Theatre Reduta

The Reduta theatre at Zelný trh 4 is considered the oldest theatre building in Central Europe. Having fallen into disrepair, the building had been in need of a major reconstruction since the early 1990s. 2002 saw a complete reconstruction in which our company provided the entire roof surface replacement. Under rigorous surveillance by the Institute for the Protection and Conservation of Monuments, the reconstruction included  replacing a part of the roof frame, replacing the burnt roofing with the Tondach Bobrovka roof tiles, as well as tinsmith work using the TiZn (Rheizink) materials. The complete reconstruction contributed to cultivating the Brno theatre scene. Using a sensitive and refined approach which takes into account the history of the building as well as the wider context and the ‘genius loci‘, the reconstruction also created a modern space equipped with state-of-the-art technology...
